BGSS Rate HistoryThe Basic Gas Supply Service (BGSS) Charge is designed to recover the cost of the gas supplies the Company purchases for its customers. It is a straight dollar-for-dollar pass-through of those gas costs, and taxes and assessments in connection with the purchase and sale of gas. The Company earns no profit from this charge. The BGSS charge is either BGSS-Monthly (BGSS-M) or BGSS-Periodic (BGSS-P).
BGSS-M Rate
Applicable to all GDS, LVD, and EFG customers receiving gas supply from the Company. It is effective on the first day of each month.
BGSS-P Rate
Applicable to all RDS, SGS, MFS (except Special Provision #1 May 1 - October 31) and GLS customers receiving gas supply from the Company.

(1) Most Customers will see a different "Basic Gas" rate on their bills. Since customers are spread out over 20 billing cycles, each cycle's customers will have their rate pro-rated with the previous month's rate. For example, a customer whose meter is read on the 12th day of the month would have 12 days of usage billed at the current month's rate and 18 days of usage billed at the previous month's rate.
