Elizabethtown Gas to Pass $10.9 Million Savings from Federal Tax Reform Law to Customers

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) has approved a reduction of Elizabethtown Gas’ distribution rates totaling $10.9 million, effective April 1. The reduction stems from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which lowered Elizabethtown Gas’ annual tax expense – a savings Elizabethtown Gas’ firm natural gas customers in New Jersey will benefit from.

Safe Digging is no Accident: Dial 811 Before Beginning Outdoor Projects

April marks the traditional start of the digging season with homeowners and contractors beginning outdoor projects increasing the chance of damages to underground utility lines, including natural gas pipelines. Elizabethtown Gas is joining other utilities, one-call centers and damage prevention advocates across the country to encourage New Jersey residents to call 811 before beginning any digging projects to prevent injuries, property damage and inconvenient outages.
