Colonial Pipeline Incident: No Impact to ETG customers

 

SJI (parent company of South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas) was unaffected by the cybersecurity incident that impacted Colonial Pipeline. We continue to monitor the latest intelligence and are committed to a strategic, risk-based approach to protect our facilities and the technologies that enable our ability to safely and reliably deliver clean energy to meet customer needs.

  • South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas were unaffected by the Colonial Pipeline incident, and we are actively monitoring the situation.
  • We are assessing intelligence from the FBI, DHS CISA, NJCCIC and monitoring for any associated risks.
  • SJI deploys cybersecurity systems using a defense-in-depth approach, continuously improving and strengthening our external and internal posture to identify and prevent attacks, including:
    • Continuous monitoring
    • Threat detection by a dedicated team using state-of-the-art technology
    • Collaboration with federal cyber response experts, law enforcement, and industry associations
    • SJI conducts routine cybersecurity awareness training to help educate our users on how to identify and respond to potential threats
  • SJI has a dedicated cybersecurity team that guards against threats 24/7/365. Many of these employees are certified and must maintain credentials through continuous education and training. We conduct internal drills several times a year to test security posture and incident response.
  • SJI participates in industry intelligence sharing with trade groups such as DNG-ISAC, EEI, and AGA.
