Pay Your Bill

AutoDraft: Pay Automatically by Bank Draft
With AutoDraft you pay your bill automatically each month through direct debit from your bank account. It's fast and secure - and free to enroll and use. Download the mail-in application > 

Pay by Mail Most customers prefer to pay their bill by mail using the return envelope enclosed with their monthly bill. If you have misplaced the envelope, place your check and payment stub in your own envelope and mail to:

Pay by Phone
Use Western Union® Speedpay® to process your payment 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Call 1-866-589-5029 and follow the prompts.  You also may opt to speak to a customer service representative.

Your credit card statement will show "866-383-1846GAS UTILIT".  Western Union Speedpay charges a $3.95 convenience fee. (Note -- As of August 1 the fee will increase to $4.95.)

When paying your natural gas bill by phone you can use you checking or savings account, debit/ATM or Visa, Mastercard or Discover card.

Using your checking, savings or money market account, pay online  -- for free!  You can also view your account and payment history.

Budget Payment Plan With our Budget Payment Plan we bill you the same amount every month for the next 12 months. This eliminates the "peaks and valleys" in your gas bill caused by winter's cold and summer's heat, making your household budgeting much easier.
  • We estimate your natural gas usage for the next 12 months, based on your past usage.
  • We divide that estimate by 12 to determine your monthly payment.
  • We review your plan every six months to make sure your budget amount is keeping pace with your actual usage. We'll adjust your monthly amount, if necessary.

Energy Assistance
Elizabethtown Gas customers who are having trouble paying their bills are encouraged to call United Way at 2-1-1 and reach out to the Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS).  Call 1-800-251-CCCS or visit http://www.cccsinc.org/ or http://www.cccsenespanol.org/.  You may be able to receive assistance from one or more of the following programs >

Deferred Payment Arrangements
If your account is past due, we'll work with you to set up a Deferred Payment Arrangement. This will allow you to pay off your balance over an extended period of time, while staying current with any new bills. Call 1-800-242-5830, or visit our offices at 12 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth or 296 State Street, Perth Amboy.

Third Party Notification Program
Customers may designate a third party to receive a duplicate copy of any shut-off notices they receive. The third party may be a relative, friend, neighbor or clergyman. Although the third party is not responsible for payment, their awareness of the situation can help prevent an unfortunate occurrence.
