At Elizabethtown Gas, a subsidiary of SJI, our commitment to the communities we serve goes beyond your gas meter. We invest in the local neighborhoods in which we live and work, modernizing our infrastructure for a more resilient future and deploying dedicated utility crews around the clock to keep you safe and warm.
Reliable Energy Starts at Your Front Door
When you turn on your heat or cook a meal for your family, you’re relying on infrastructure you never see but depend on every day. That’s why investing in energy infrastructure isn’t just about pipes and projects. It’s about keeping homes safe, energy reliable, and communities strong.
Across New Jersey, billions of dollars are being invested to modernize, strengthen, and future-proof the infrastructure that fuels your homes, businesses, and communities.
This isn’t theoretical. It’s already happening — mile by mile, pipe by pipe, dollar by dollar.
Major Investments. Real Results.

Through the Infrastructure Investment Program, we are:
Upgrading associated infrastructure across North Jersey
Installing excess flow valves (EFVs) on new service lines to automatically shut off gas if a line is damaged
These upgrades dramatically reduce risk and improve system reliability for customers today — and decades into the future.
Modern infrastructure upgrades don’t have to mean torn-up roads or interrupted service. That’s why Elizabethtown Gas is using CISBOT, an advanced robotic technology that repairs aging cast iron pipes from the inside.
CISBOT enters the gas main through one small opening in the street and travels hundreds of feet underground, sealing pipe joints internally while gas service remains on.
Dedicated Frontline Heroes
Our teams work around the clock in harsh winter weather, providing rapid, efficient leak repairs when our customers need them most. They are members of the very communities they serve—neighbors helping neighbors—restoring not just service, but peace of mind.
