Elizabethtown Gas Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction in the East Midsize for Third Straight Year

UNION, N.J. – Sept. 20, 2017 – For the third consecutive year, Elizabethtown Gas ranks highest in customer satisfaction for midsize utilities that serve between 125,000 and 399,000 residential customers in the East, according to the J.D. Power 2017 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.

Elizabethtown Gas’ overall customer satisfaction index score increased 45 points this year, from 700 to 745. The rating is 24 points higher than the regional average. The ratings are based on a 1,000-point scale.

The company experienced year-over-year gains in all six component of the study, which include safety and reliability, billing and payment, price, corporate citizenship, communications and customer service outreach to their customers. The company leads all midsize utilities in the East in the areas of price, corporate citizenship, communications and customer service, according to the study.

The 2017 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study measures satisfaction among residential customers of 85 large and midsize U.S. natural gas utility companies. These results are based on responses from more than 61,000 online interviews between September 2016 and July 2017.
